Fannyca Binti Asai, Alfiana Binti Joseph, Fatima Binti Zabli, three students from UiTM Malaysia, conducted a laboratorium test in the Faculty of Pharmachy UMS to find the anti-cancer effects of Calophyllum Inophyllum (Nyamplung), Garcinia Cueneifolia (Mangosteen) and The nest of Edible-nest Swiftlet. During their one-month stay, February 2 to march 2017, they were introduced to laboratorium equipments for one week prior to working on the lab. “We’re trying to find an alternative cure for cancer, and since we have insufficient lab equipments in Sarawak, we made this research collaboration with UMS”, said Fatima when asked about the reason for conducting research in UMS. The head of Office for international Affairs of UMS, Supriyono Ph.D, hoped that the partnership between UMS and UiTM would continue in the future in other aspects such as student exchange, lecturer exchange and credit transfer.
