Fahmi Al Chodri is a Civil Engineering student who is doing his final project in Universitas Teknologi Petronas (UTP) Malaysia in a Joint Research Attachment Program that lasts for three months, starting September 2017. It is his second time studying in a Malaysian University as last year he completed a credit transfer program in Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). Other Civil Engineering students who are also doing their final project in Malaysia are Kemal Al Zaro in UTP and Muhammad Alfian in Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). “I am very grateful to have a chance to study abroad because I have a golden opportunity to build a global networking that will be useful for my future career. In addition, I can improve my academic and professional skills. Petronas Universitas Teknologi Petronas (UTP) is a private university run by Malaysian oil company, Petronas which has excellent global reputation. It didn’t take me much time to adapt with the life in Malaysia because the food and the people are quite similar with what are in Indonesia. However, I really miss Indonesian food. In Malaysia there are also Chinese and Indian people who still speak their own languages. It makes me realize how important the role of Bahasa Indonesia is to unite our people”.
