Bureau of Collaborations and International Affairs conducted an orientation for new international students about immigration and traffic regulations in Siti Walidah Auditorium on Friday, September 8, 2017. The new international students comprise of four KNB (Kemitraan Negara Berkembang) students from Benin, Zimbabwe and Thailand, one Darmasiswa student from Poland, four IPS (International Priority Scholarship from UMS) students from Egypt, Morocco, Zimbabwe and Sudan, one student from Timor Leste and eight UPSI (Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris) students from Malaysia who are doing their teaching internship for two months. Head of Immigration Information Subsection, Oky Syachputra, AM.d Im, S.H., M.H. explained about immigration rules regarding the visa and the immigration rules that the international students must abide by during their study in Indonesia. Regulations regarding the traffic were presented by IPTU Sumanto, S.H., the Head of Traffic Education and Engineering Unit from Sukoharjo Regional Police Department. He explained that if the international students want to ride motorcycle or car they must have an international driving license or they can make an Indonesian driving license. He emphasized on safety riding because there were a lot of accidents on the street which cause death. Therefore, besides reminding students to obey the traffic regulations, Hepy Adityarini, Ph.D, the Head of International Program also warned students to always wear helmet when riding a motorcycle.
