A FAREWELL FOR INBOUND AND OUTBOND STUDENTS

On Wednesday, August 24, 2017 BKUI held a farewell for students who have finished their mobility program in UMS and students who are going to do their mobility program this year. Seven UTHM students finished their internship program and went back to Malaysia on August 25, and Alifya Valiji attended a summer program from the British Council called Discovering Indonesian Islam returned to the UK on August 31. This year there are thirty three students of UMS who are going to study in South Korea, Taiwan, China, and Malaysia.Ten students from Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering and Management are attending a double degree program in Youngsan University Korea, while two Management students are enrolled in a double degree program in Kyungdong University Korea. Besides Korea, Management has been sending students to National Dong Hwa University (NDHU) Taiwan for the last three academic years, and this year it is sending four students for a double degree program, and two students for student exchange program. As for Civil Engineering, its collaboration with Malaysian Universities is expanding and this year five students are going to take a credit transfer and one student is going to do his final project in Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM). In addition, three students are going to Universiti Teknologi Petronas Malaysia for doing their final project in the form of joint-supervisor. Four students from Mechanical Engineering and one student from Electrical Engineering are also attending a credit transfer in UTHM, while one student from Mechanical Engineering is taking a credit transfer in WUXI China.The length of study varies depending on the type of program that the students choose, that is one up to two years for double degree, one year for credit transfer, and six months for student exchange. Before departing from Surakarta, UMS students attended Pre Departure Orientation program. In this event, Vice Rector IV of Collaboration Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Fattah, M.Ag advised UMS students to always do the five-time prayers on time, find halal food and maintain positive attitude and behavior during their study abroad.
